About Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka is a tropical pear-shaped island situated 29 kilometers off the southeastern coast of India. The administrative capital of the country is Sri Jayawardenapura, while the commercial capital is Colombo. The island is geographically diverse with a land area of 65, 610 sq. Km.

The population of 19.4 million consists of a variety of ethnic groups. The Per Capita income of the country is
US$ 807.
